Since helping over a lakh of migrants safely return to their home during the national coronavirus lockdown, Bollywood actor Sonu Sood now want to help over two crore migrants get blue-collar and entry-level jobs in the next 5 years.
The free website and app, called ‘Pravasi Rojgar,’ links job providers to work seekers digitally. The platform ‘Pravasi Rojgar’ has already begun seeking work opportunities for aspirants across various sectors across the world. Not only the hunt but the initiative of the Sonu Sood will also train candidates to make them skillful for the job and industry.
More than 450 employers were onboard and 1,00,000 work specifications were aggregated after the launch, according to the ‘Pravasi Rojgar’ web site. The online marketplace has companies like Amazon, Sodexo, Max Healthcare, and Portea aboard.
“Our aim is to provide job connections and career development for millions of migrant workers in need of employment,” reads a message on the website ‘Pravasi Rojgar.’
The 47-year-old actor also recounted his thoughts on how they looked in the midst of the pandemic for the right job opportunity.
“Over the last few months, much thinking, planning, and preparation have gone into the design of this project to ensure it is inclusive and builds on the work already being done in the region.
“Extensive consultations were conducted with top organizations interested in skills at the grassroots level and putting young people below the poverty line, NGOs, philanthropic organizations, government officials, strategic consultants, technology start-ups, and above all the migrants I support,” Sood said in a statement.
Public outreach in the communities will assist the program in seeking the right employment prospects for migrant workers around the globe.
