Upma has a wide range, people used to add nuts, beans, spices like turmeric, chilies and curry leaves to enhance the dish’s flavor.

5. Pongal 

Pongal is a popular South Indian food made with rice and moong dal, Pongal is made up of more variety, Spicy and sweet are the common variety prepared for breakfast by any household. Often called Pongal, as Ven Pongal. Pongal served not only at home, but also common meals served in temples, pooja days, and festivals.

6. Puttu 

One of Kerala’s most common breakfast combinations is the puttu served with kadala kari. In essence, Puttu has steamed rice flour and a grated log of coconut. People often eat a banana with puttu. Puttu was prepared with rice flour or wheat flour from two varieties.

7. Uppu kozhukattai

Uppu kozhukattai is a traditional Tamil food prepared specifically during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
